Borda de l’Avi is walking distance from our apartment; tasty, well prepared, varied borda-style menu with the usual grilled meats etc done on the open fire. Very friendly staff; dogs welcome. Reasonably priced. One of our local faves.
Excellent food, friendly and professional service! The restaurant has a huge open fireplace/grill in the middle, decorated in a rather rustic style. They have also accommodated our special requests and served one of their desserts, the apple tart as birthday dish. Highly recommended if you are at the area. P.S.: you might want to make a reservation as they are pretty booked out.
I visited this restaurant with the intention of having a drink and some quick snacks on the terrace. To my surprise, we were informed that they did not offer service on the terrace, which was already a disappointment. Additionally, the service we received was unfriendly and unprofessional. We mentioned that we were in a bit of a hurry and that we had a dog with us, and the response was again quite rude, indicating that the dog could enter and have a full menu if the dog behaved well, but always with an unpleasant tone.Another negative point was that I spoke to them in Catalan, but they insisted on responding in Spanish, which I consider a lack of respect. In summary, the experience was negative, and I would not recommend this place based on the first impression and the service we received. So we did not stay. We had some nice snacks and beer in the bar with terrace next to it.
The unlucky 7th time that I have eaten here, all previous meals have been fantastic, great food, wine and service. Monday January the 30th was the exception. The restaurant was a little busier than on my previous visits, but this cannot excuse the very poor service that we received. True we were shown to our table and asked what aperitive we wanted immediately, but this did not turn up for 15 minutes. The food order was not taken for another 15 mins and when the starter course eventually arrived only three of the five orders of Scallops appeared, another 5 mins until everyone received their food, but by this time my food was tepid to say the least. The lamb main course, as always, was cooked to perfection but one vegetarian guest who had order a Lobster rice received a meat rice dish, it looked lovely but he could not eat it and by the time an alterative dish was ordered and cooked everyone had finished their meals. I do not know if it was staffing issues but the special birthday meal that I had anticipated was spoilt. I will go back because it is such a lovely place and I hope this one night was just a hiccup. Hard to mark this down as I hope it's a one off, so will give 5 stars for my previous visits
